All aspects of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network design and implementation, (specialising in Cisco Systems based solutions). Design of resilient, high capacity voice and data networks.

Troubleshooting services including network and server monitoring and health checks, assessment of bottlenecks and compatibility issues and recommendations and specification of upgrade paths.

Virtual private networking

Design and implementation of global networks utilising Internet based topologies.

Specification and implementation of encrypted remote access systems or peer to peer VPN's. Use of VPN and secure client technologies for remote access, and support and the use of thin client technologies including Citrix for satellite working to a central location.

Business continuity infrastructure planning
Remote data warehousing and high availability systems
Telephony continuity planning

Taking the physical business continuity plan to the next level. Providing advice and support for I.T. Infrastructure resilience, including off-site HA systems (mirrors), backup testing and restore verification, data warehousing and telephony and Wide area network continuity plans.

UNIX Administration (Solaris / Linux)

Support and advice on UNIX configurations and network implementations. Holiday cover for UNIX administration and upgrade and patch management. This is currently specific to Solaris and Linux systems.

Technical Managed Services

Business Continuity IT & Telephony Support Services

The use of a smart redirector for ISDN PRI circuit connections allowing diversion down to individual DDI level, multiple flexible plans and instant switching between plans. Allows for a combination of staff relocated into Business Recovery Suites, key personnel, on the move or at home and recorded messages or interactive voice response to alleviate work load.

Web Hosting & Mail

Provision of standard web hosting plans, utilising an advanced web based controller for client management. SQL support will initially be via MSDE.

Provision of a powerful mail and webmail service incorporating Anti-Virus and spam content checking services.

Network & Server Monitoring

Provision of a managed service, to clients, either via a dedicated leased line or through “push technologies” through a firewall to our dedicated Managed Services Centre (MSC). This service will provide monitoring of servers, network and applications, such as SQL, Backups, Web Servers etc. etc. These applications can be “exercised” to ensure functionality. The service uses an automated alerting procedure, via e-mail and SMS. Alerts can either be direct to the client or to our staff, who will follow a detailed alert procedure on behalf of the client. The provision of periodic reports detailing availability and downtime with details of all alerts and resolutions during the period. This service is tailored to each client’s specific requirements.

One unique aspect of this service is the Service Level Monitoring service. This allows a client to monitor complex SLA’s and the system provides trending to forecast SLA breaches. This allows the client to monitor service providers, services and applications and be alerted to any degradation before it affects the users.

Patch Management

This consists of two services, one is advisory and the other is fully managed (for specified OS and Applications only). After a client survey a database is kept detailing all critical server and desktop applications, generally with a specific eye on security vulnerabilities. we will then automatically (pro-actively) inform the client of any updates or patches required, or for the fully managed service, arrange to implement the updates, either remotely or on-site. (Note: this will probably involve scheduled downtime and may incur out of hours costs).

Firewall and Perimeter management

This service provides all configurations, patch management and reporting for a clients Internet perimeter. This includes firewall and router support, proxy management and DNS services where appropriate.

Vulnerability Scanning

This service is designed to provide a documented 3rd Party remote scan on all vulnerable networks at regular intervals. It is a fixed fee service and provides an initial benchmark for security audit, followed by regular ancillary checks to ensure that firewall rules, patch management and server security is maintained at a high level.
