Biography
Robin Le Prevost, until recently Business Development Manager for Cable and Wireless is Guernsey born and bred. Having spent a significant part of his early working life living and working in both the UK and France, Robin returned to the Channel Islands to work in the booming finance industry.
Feeling the need to stretch himself in the wider world of commerce Robin spent the next several years working with two new and highly successful business start-ups.
Robin then joined the local government owned Guernsey Telecoms in 2000 in the Business Development role, a company, which was subsequently bought out by the global giant Cable and Wireless in 2002.
As Business Development Manager, Robin's primary responsibilities encompassed utilising the latest technologies and integrating them into the commercial world with a particular emphasis on attracting new business and industries to the offshore environment in the Channel Islands. Whilst generally responsible for all e-commerce Robin gained detailed insight into the E-Gaming market in which the Channel Islands lead the world by offering a highly regulated environment for blue chip operators.
Robin’s view on E-Commerce is that it is Business first with technology second – both, when combined seamlessly, offering terrifically exciting opportunities for the local and global trader.
The Channel Islands with a well established and highly respected Finance Industry brings unique advantages for the E-Commerce sector.
Married with two children Robin enjoys competitive yacht racing in his spare time
